I typically play at open mic nights in Geelong, such as Rock O’Cashel, the Barking Dog/Mr Umami’s and Beav’s Bar.

Sometimes I play a few sets at Limeburners and the Guitar Bar at the Barking Dog.

These days I very occasionally make it back to Melbourne for an open mic night.

Jason McNear’s debut solo album, Harlequin Moon, has finally been released, after a music career spanning more than 30 years. In this special Melbourne launch, the songs from the album will be brought to life by a full band, with the addition of cello on a couple of tracks. The album ranges from straight-up rock through to some folk and ballad…and in one case even some gothic-western! What unites them all is Jason’s unique take on life, love and music-making.

Supporting will be Ash Archer, a charismatic and upcoming Melbourne performer who has already achieved numerous successes through his music. Another support act to be announced.
